Zycron Launches Mobile App For Job Seekers, Referrals

Zycron today announced it has launched a mobile application to streamline the job search and referral process for information technology professionals. Candidates no longer have to spend their time searching through endless job boards; the app “Z-Job Finder” does the work for them.

“Z-Job Finder” has two main functions: 1) immediately notifies candidates when Zycron has new positions that match their skills and lets them apply with the touch of one button; and 2) allows users to refer friends to Zycron jobs right from their phones, a feature that can really pay off…up to $1,500 in referral bonuses!

The app is available for download in the Apple Store and can be accessed directly from any iPhone by clicking here or by searching for “Zycron” in the Apple App Store. Users of “Z-Job Finder” take less than five minutes to complete a profile, and then wait for the job matches to roll in. Features of the mobile app allow users to:

  • Update their Zycron profile highlighting any new skills or recently acquired education.
  • Receive real-time notifications when Zycron gets a new job opening that matches their skills.
  • Apply directly to jobs that match their skills with the touch of one button.
  • Review our daily “hot jobs” and refer candidates who may fit. Zycron pays up to $1,500 for referrals.
  • Refer IT professionals to Zycron who are looking for new career opportunities. If we hire them, the referrer gets paid!
  • Stay connected with Zycron by reading its latest news and announcements.

An Android version of the “Z-Job Finder” app is scheduled for release later in 2017.

Zycron Wins 2017 Best of Staffing Award

Zycron, a leading information technology services firm, announced today it has won Inavero’s 2017 Best of Staffing® Client Award for providing superior service to its clients. This is the second year Zycron has received the award.

Zycron Awards Scholarships to IT College Students

Zycron launched its inaugural college scholarship program and partnered with BDPA to identify five information technology students for the 2016 award.

The Zycron BDPA Scholarship Program awarded $2,500 to students pursuing a 2-year or 4-year academic program related to IT. The national program is part of Zycron’s overall education initiatives designed to support students pursuing academic success and to further promote its belief in the power of education. BDPA is a non-profit organization offering education, mentoring, support, and networking opportunities to IT professional members.

“Access to technology and education resources is essential as we prepare the next generation for the workforce,” said Darrell S. Freeman, Sr., Zycron’s founder and executive chairman. “It is a joy to be in a position to contribute to the effort of developing the technology talent pipeline, and I’m committed to finding new ways for businesses to participate in the process. Student candidates completed a thorough application that was reviewed by a panel of IT executives from multiple corporations. The applicants were rated on the quality of their essays, their academic achievements and their community involvement.

The recipients of the 2016 Zycron BDPA Scholarship are:

• Ebenezer Adjei Armah – studying computer science at Fisk University.

• Alston Clark – studying computer science at Howard University.

• Danielle Haik – studying computer science at Tennessee State University.

• Kyra Hayes – studying business management at Hampton University.

• Kevin Rabinovich – studying architecture and digital production arts and music at Clemson University.
Freeman said that education is one of his biggest passions, and over the years Zycron has supported numerous education initiatives ranging from donating laptops to high schools to directly providing scholarships to students interested in information technology.

“Charitable work is an element of corporate responsibility that our company insists upon,” he said. “It is a constant reminder of the principles upon which Zycron was founded.”

Zycron Named TVA’s Diverse Supplier of the Year

Tennessee Valley Authority presented Zycron with the Diverse Supplier of the Year Award at its 2016 Supplier Diversity Outreach Summit on June 7.

The award – which TVA says highlights Zycron’s outstanding contributions over the past year – is another testament to the strong partnership Zycron has maintained with TVA for the last 24 years.

“As our first major customer, TVA took a chance on Zycron in 1992 and gave us an opportunity to do business. We haven’t looked back since,” Zycron Executive Chairman Darrell S. Freeman said. “As a native of Chattanooga, I am personally grateful that doing business in the Tennessee Valley has allowed Zycron to create jobs and provide a positive economic impact for the community.”

The Supplier Diversity Summit was a day of learning and networking opportunities in Memphis, Tenn., where small business participants learned the basics of contracting with TVA. And TVA executives reminded participants that they “bring a variety of thought, background and experience,” and their success “directly benefits the individual communities in which you live, which in turn strengthens the whole Tennessee Valley.”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – When Tennessee native Darrell S. Zycron Wins 5-Year, $42.5 Million IT Services, Outsourcing Contract at NES

Zycron, Inc., today announced it has been awarded a five-year, $42.5 million outsourcing contract at Nashville Electric Service for on-site information technology services. The multiyear agreement, which begins October 16, 2015, includes both IT applications and infrastructure support.

Since 2004, Zycron has provided IT services to NES, one of the 12 largest public electric utilities in the nation, distributing energy to more than 370,000 customers in Middle Tennessee. And in 2011, Zycron became NES’ prime IT services vendor.

As part of the new contract, Zycron will manage all of NES’ on-site IT services, including applications development and maintenance, database administration, security administration, PC support, network support, and help desk services.

Zycron Promotes Taylor to VP of Operations

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Zycron today announced that it promoted Rochelle Taylor to vice president of operations. Taylor reports directly to the Zycron President and CEO and plans, directs and coordinates the overall operational decisions for the company.

As VP of operations, Taylor works with department heads to manage daily business activities, as well as provides oversight for technical support, R&D, purchasing, administration and human resources across Zycron’s five domestic offices. She monitors Zycron’s revenue margins for employee productivity and develops guidelines for personnel evaluations, staff advancement and recruitment procedures.

Taylor joined Zycron in 2001, and her advancement places her on the company’s executive team.  Prior to becoming Zycron’s VP of operations, she served as director of human resources where she led and directed the company’s overall HR strategies, practices and programs. Prior to Zycron, Taylor worked in the health care, state government and insurance services industries.

Welch Named New CFO

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Zycron, Inc., named Greg Welch its new chief financial officer.

Welch joins Zycron with more than 20 years of experience as an accounting professional. He most recently served as the financial and administrative manager with Manna Project International.  He has also had previous experience as an audit senior manager at Fox, Kolb & Associates, PLLC; assurance executive at Crowe Horwath LLP; plant controller at GF Office Furniture, LTD; senior tax accountant at Ingram Industries, Inc. and senior accountant at Marlin & Edmondson, P.C.

As Zycron’s CFO, Welch will be charged with directing the financial strategy of the company, overseeing all purchasing activities, and managing the financial planning and budgeting processes. He will also prepare financial statements, direct and implement accounting policies, procedures and internal controls, and manage cash flow. Welch succeeds Temika Taylor, who had been with the company for 16 years and served as its CFO since 2008.
